I dont even think bride's now a days even wear real jewelry on their wedding days. They'll usually get silver gold plated jewlery.
yeah, lots more brides are doing that.... and i completely understand why... its not like we wear heavy sets on day to day basis... it just sits in the bank/locker for the rest of time
but a lot of brides still are getting the real stuff, no matter how expensive...its because if the parents really can afford it they usually push the girls to get the set in real gold...the whole cultural/traditional stuff associated with gold is still there even in this day and age, and parents normally dont give in...
Now when i look back...I dont regret getting the real thing for my wedding though... i have amazing heavy sets, with lots and lots of real rubies, gems, and stones in them....the sets match with multiple outfits and give completely different looks with different colours, you can mix and match, sometimes u can just wear the long dangling earings or jhumkay with plain suit or something and it looks so classy (so u dont have to wait for a big event like a family wedding to make use of your set).....
I am glad that i have the real authentic traditional looking stuff, and because its real gold it can be cherished forever, and who knows may even be enjoyed by my daughters... my designs are very traditional, so they will be never out of fashion and will come back in trend again again
