kundan is embossed metal…its also called jadaao…depends on the design…when the gold is hot and in a state of being shaped…the jewelers emboss it with a pattern and fill it with stones.
this is kundan…its an embossed design filled with colored stones…usually it has less gold..(mixed with alloy) because in order for the pattern to hold so many stones without difficulty (and danger of falling out) it needs to be mixed.
