Re: Bridal Hair styles

all the soft hairstyles look so good and sexy, but what is an appropriate hairstyle for holding the heavy duppata pinned to your head?? what types of updos and how exactly do you make them "stiff" so they can hold your 10 pound duppata especially if you don't have long or heavy hair? also, if you're going to wear a matha patti, should you not part your hair and have all your bangs sprayed back and away from your forehead? eek, i'm so confused!

Bridal Hair Ideas

A.A Everyone,

Please could youpost pics of Bridal Hair Designs. I never usually have my hair up as I dont think it suits me but on the wedding day my MUA said that I will have to have a high bun as Im also wearing a tikka and jhumar and he needs to scrape my hair back to stick it on. But I want to what if any alternatives there are as I really dont like the idea of having a high bun.

Thanks everyone.

Re: Bridal Hair Ideas

I was the same as you, i always wore my hair out.. but for my wedding day, the makeup artist gave me a soft updo, i.e., it wasn't too tight or pulled back...it didn't hurt that she used a bunch of fake hairpieces! and she gave me a middle part so it didn't look too bad

on the valima day, i had a deep side part, and curls coming down at the side (that too was a piece :p)..

Re: Bridal Hair Ideas

Do u think i would be able to see pics then i would have a better idea of what you mean?

Or could anyone post any pics?

Re: Bridal Hair Ideas

Re: Bridal Hair Ideas

hey those were some really good ideas thanks!! i really like the volume and the height of those styles. any more ideas would be welcome too. I have a slightly longer face with thinner features - and dont think hair up suits me.

Thanks everyone

Re: Bridal Hair Ideas

like the last one, its pretty...

Re: Bridal Hair Ideas

i got sum advice for ur face shape and ur style of hair pink diamond! hope its usefull to help u decide! :D

LONG FACE
If you have a long face, it's good to add width at the sides of your head by bringing a few wispy strands of hair forward to sit just in front of the ears. Building your hair too high up on top of your head will make your face appear longer and should be avoided. Wearing your hair up in a bun that sits at the back of the head, rather than on top will help to balance out long features..

ROUND FACE
Make a round face look more feminine by building height to the top of the hair. A topknot or cascade of curls on top of the head will create the effect of a more shapely face and will also add height to anyone wanting to look taller too.

HEART SHAPED FACE
A true heart-shaped face can be made to look less angular by creating some width at the chin. A smart bob or some waves that finish at the chin will help this effect.

LONG HAIR
There is an endless number of ways in which long hair can be worn. From wearing the hair up in a tight topknot to piling it loosely on top of the head, hair can be worn around your face to add softness or up high to add height. Long hair can be worn part up and part down by taking up the sides of the hair and leaving the back long. Curling the hair to create waves will give a romantic, old fashioned look, while straightening hair can give a modern sleeker appearance.

SHOULDER LENGTH HAIR
Shoulder-length hair can look like long hair on the day with a little bit of professional magic! If you want to wear your hair up but are worried that your hair simply isn't long enough, your hairdresser might suggest a sponge. Sponges are doughnut-shaped pieces of net-covered sponge that come in a variety of colours to match your hair. They can be placed on the crown of the head and your hair pinned around them to give the illusion of more hair. Hair pieces do a similar job but it can be tricky to get the colour exact, particularly if your hair is highlighted. Hair extensions are another, more expensive alternative. A sparkly tiara will set off your long hair a treat.

SHORT HAIR
Short hair can look stunning on your wedding day and while there may be less options for you when it comes to how to wear your hair, there are ways you can make more of your chosen look. Getting a really great cut for your wedding day is the first most important thing to do. If your hair tends to be fairly flat or lifeless, add texture by backcombing gently or simply rubbing gently between fingers and thumb. Creating volume may not be the answer for very short hair but a good hairdresser will be able to add texture to even the shortest of hairstyles. Hair pins and combs can add a sparkle and a few flowers in your hair can really set off a short hairstyle beautifully.

CURLY HAIR
Curly hair can be braided for a pretty traditional look. Curly hair can have a tendency to frizz so smoothing out each curl in turn will make bouncy, sleeker and shinier curls. Wash your hair and dry with a diffuser to bring out your natural curls. Then run each curl under a curling iron to iron out the frizz and emphasise the curl. Curly hair is great to add accessories to as they will add interest and sparkle to the volume. A tiara or hair comb can look simply stunning amongst your curls.

Re: Bridal Hair Ideas

oh also its a good idea to have a fringe has it evens out a longer face and will soften ur features!

Re: Bridal Hair Ideas

Has anyone seen brides that dont wear their hair up for the wedding?
