oooo i like the side part ^...everyone is telling me to do a part in the middle to put the tikka but I find the side part more elegant for a wedding hairstyle and my hair seems more fuller that way :P ..what do u think of the side parting of hair:p?

You can do both for both days :p
A side part looks nice sometimes, as long as the tikka is set hte way its set in that pic

I think it is a personal choice. It looks good if done properly. For myself, I don't think I will go for side part.

I think it looks better when a bride opts for two different looks on each day - i.e. a middle part for nikah/wedding and a side parting for walima. Also i tend to advise clients to opt for two different hairstyles/looks for each day - where one day she has a joora/up-do and the 2nd day she wears her hair half or full down with a hairpiece or backcombed sixties style.

i wuldnt tied the hair up..i wuld put sum curls or sumthng lke that on my nikkah day!!

how do you backcomb or make your hair high at the crown to give it volume without the dupatta weighing it down?? do you add a hairpiece to it?? i'm not in pakistan and don't live close to a desi beauty parlor or anything of that sort...so if i get my hair done from a regular hair salon, will they style it in such a way that the dupatta won't flatten my hair?

just ask for a rock solid beehive, nabz. tell them the higher it is, and the more hairspray they use, the better it is. think beehives from "hairspray the musical"!

My hair is sort of thin, so they did put a hair piece underneath and the backcombed and put my hair over it. It looked great (until my husband was helping me remove the hairpins on our wedding night -- oh the shock!).

Brides with flowers
Please post pics of brides/girls on engagement/girls on any party dressed up with a flower in their hair. I saw this picture of a girl in a thread wearing purplish color and a flower in her hair, Masha Allah she was looking beautiful. I think its a nice idea, if any of you have such pictures of girls with any flower in their hair plz plz post them here.
