I’ll definitely try to snap some shots for you today! I don’t know of any in Lahore, but there is a jeweler here in Dallas, Almas Jewelers who are also based in Karachi. He has made a few sets for me too. He can make practically anything, in any finish (white gold, etc) you want if you give him the design. He also has incredible silver jeweler that is plated with real gold, I haven’t seen a single thing like in Pakistan, I have no idea where he gets it from.
He’s quite good and they are comfortable corresponding by email. Almas Collection Jewelers

You have nothing to lose by sending him an email asking what you are looking for, and seeing if they can send over some pictures. Def ask to see the gold plated sets. I have not bought one yet, I was waiting for my parents to come back from PK but they confirmed that they couldn’t get their hands on anything as nice over there either. I’ll def share pics if I end up buying one of those plated sets!
ETA: The website is not a good reflection of their actual inventory.
Aslamualikum..
hope all are well here..
I'm thinking to get a few small sets for my wedding. And will get a main bridal set nearer to wedding. As u have to give zakat n all.. I was thinkin does it look bad if u get the fake ones, not exactly sure how to explain... hope u guys are gettin what i mean...
what do u think i should do, get a Real gold bridal set.. And the small sets those artificial ones. OR artificial bridal set and Real small ones...
I've been here for quite a while now,, been reading most of the time.. So, basically this is my first ever post here.. And i must say, you guys are fab!
don't get too much made in the first place if you r worrying about zakat coz will gold rates its going to b quite abit for something sitting in your locker...but its a personal preference. Just specifically for your question:
what do u think i should do, get a Real gold bridal set.. And the small sets those artificial ones. OR artificial bridal set and Real small ones...
i'd say get the real small ones coz ull end up wearing them alot more than the bridal set OR get bridal set made in a way that it can be broken into atleast 2 smaller sets...
I personally am not a big fan of real gold, sometimes it can look a lil outdated. I think artificial sets are really kool and are really in at the minute (they look so cute when they match outfits). Though real gold does have its worth!
It would probably depend on your bridal outfit and what looks better but if you decided to opt for a good quality artificial one on ur wedding, it shouldnt look fake at all. Good luck for your wedding!
frankly u can't make out good artificial jewellery from the real one...lol! sometimes makes me wonder why we r so mad after this one metal whose prices keep surging without limits..
Re: Bridal Gold Jewellery or artificial Jewellery?
My Mum suggested artificial for my brother's fiance and he said 'no way', but he's more traditional than me..
I don't wear much jewellery myself so it doesn't bother me if it's artificial, tbh I'd prefer to use the extra money differently (for savings, furnishing the new house etc) but everyone's different..
Re: Bridal Gold Jewellery or artificial Jewellery?
It is not a MUST to buy real gold jewelry for the wedding day. However, the only reason people say they are unable to wear their jewelry set from the wedding day again is because it usually is very big.
If you want to buy gold jewelry and want to be able to wear it again one thing you can do is get two small sets and wear them together, that way you can wear them again, separately.
The other thing is that some gold sets use a lot of gold and are thick, rather than large specially when you are using big stones to make sure the set is strong enough to hold the stones. That's how my wedding set was and was not that large, I can definitely wear it again at other events and have worn it once after the wedding so far.
Re: Bridal Gold Jewellery or artificial Jewellery?
@sumorani: that's a lovely idea! i never thought of wearing two separate smaller pieces. i'd prefer just wearing a medium size set, that way itsnot overpowering my dress and its not too large that ill never wear it again. my bhabi wore artifical on one day, everyone assumed itw as silver but agreed that she looked stunning. i heard you can also buy an artifical set that you like, and get it gold plated, that way it looks like its a gold set but u dont have to worry abt the big exprense for a set u may not wear agaain.
Re: Bridal Gold Jewellery or artificial Jewellery?
wearing huge gaudy sets is out! its all about the design and how it looks on you..
its wiser to get 2-3 small-medium sets and see how they look when put together..or you can wear a nice pendant set if your shirt has heavy kaam (seen lots of brides do it). You want to make most of your jewelery, so buy things that you will and can wear again and again.
Re: Bridal Gold Jewellery or artificial Jewellery?
i planned on fake....but ended up with real gold as I found no nice delicate fake sets in pakistan, the funny thing is my barat set didn't even look gold as I had it sprayed with white gold on top.....loved the finishing though!
