Bridal Duppatta

Ok if you wanted to have a duppata that you can see your hair through, so quite a see through one, what kind of fabric would that be. Most bridal duppatas are quite heavy.

I’m thinking a see throughish duppata with lots of little diamantes all over would look really pretty.

If any one has any pics of tjis, would be greatly appreciated.

Chiffon

Re: Bridal Duppatta

I thought it was georgette?

Either way, I love that look as well

Re: Bridal Duppatta

Georgette is too slippery.

Re: Bridal Duppatta

What is chamoose silk?

Re: Bridal Duppatta

^satin

Re: Bridal Duppatta

Is that see-through?

Re: Bridal Duppatta

nope, not at all. it's a shiny fabric on one side, heavier than silk.

Re: Bridal Duppatta

gosh my ignorance is too obvious :S better to remain quiet.

Re: Bridal Duppatta

hehe nah, the only way you'll find out is if you ask questions!

Re: Bridal Duppatta

Net is best option

Re: Bridal Duppatta

i'm not a fan of net myself.

Re: Bridal Duppatta

organza (soft one) also looks great

Re: Bridal Duppatta

^i think some of those are chiffon.

it depends on the fall you want i guess.

Re: Bridal Duppatta

^yes I knw I posted the pics of different materials..............it was just a suggestion abt organza, no pic comparison.

Re: Bridal Duppatta

I just got my outfit done with a benarsi net dupatta in khaki/gold, and adding a 2" green silk border on all four sides for weight (so it stays on the head).

Benarsi net is different from regular nylon net, MUCH finer and has a slight shimmer since it's woven with gold, and it has buties all over - looks really pretty!

My criteria was also that it should be as see-through as possible - because the kaam on the outfit is breathtakingly beautiful, and I didn't want to hide any of it.

Benarsi net is available in loads of colours but from what I've seen, but the buties are all the same (round) and all gold.

You can also try a georgette+tissue blend that I've seen around - it's soft and flowy unlike proper tissue, and somewhat sheer as well.
