I’m getting married in a few months and I would like to know what colours are in for wedding lenghas? For my first day I definatly want to wear red AND something… But what?!
And what about valima colours? What’s in?? I really like the colours purple and hot pink but not necessarily together lol.
red and navy? red and copper? red and green? red and peach? red and hot pink? red and black? red and teal? the list is endless…
walima, people seem to have this notion that you are only to wear light colours not sure why…personally im in love with this ekta solanki dress which is green, and also another one which is teal
im not one to follow trends etc…it just has to be something i totally LOVE!!
Thanks for the reply guys, I'll definitely consider those colours :)
Why NOT red???! Trends may have changed but this colour had not. In my opinion it makes the bride. I have decided to wear this
Colour on MY wedding day... I did not ask you to.
i dont really understand why you consider RED a ‘trend’ its a tradition more like it…and no matter what happens western brides 99% of the time wear white because that is what they associate with a bride…
now you dont have to wear it,thats your opinion but please dont thrash tradition by calling it a ‘Trend’
my intention is not to offend anybody here..its just dat all red brides look almost the same! no matter how much effort, time, money they invest in their dress they all end up looking same very ordinary nothing special sort.. rest do watever u want :)
I have to disagree I have seen many brides In red and NONE of them looked the same. Each and every bride looked beautiful on there day. Time and money well spent I think!!! You can be as westernised as you want but we do suit red rather than white on our wedding day, but hey, this is my opinion and that is clearly yours.
I am loving the red and navy!!! I'm thinking the navy part could be in velvet, what do you guys think??
Red and ivory - that's my wedding lehenga. So excited to wear it! Fresh red dupatta and shirt with ivory lehenga, and ivory jamawar border on the inside of the dupatta so it matches. For the walima....not sure, the MILs making that, but I've suggested teals, purples and blues - I really like peacock colours for walima. Having said that, I've been to quite a few weddings recently where the bride has worn peach or light pink on the walima, which looks pretty too :)
No matter what trend or century comes "RED" will hold its importance from day one its been worn over decades and centuries. It is indeed a very special color for a very special occasion. There are many people on a baraat/wedding day who wear many colors but definitely "avoid" red as it is being/assumed the brides color :)
