Bridal Dress and wedding shopping - Lahore

Hey ladies,

Since Lahore is the hub of fashion (sorry karachiites - was born there but haven’t been there since so can’t comment), I am planning to visit it next week for my wedding shopping. If you guys can suggest any brands/ shops for bridal dresses which won’t rip me off, please share. My dad was sweet enough to give me a budget of 75k to 125k - it isn’t a lot but I think more than enough for something you’ll only wear once- I’d really like it if I don’t cross the 100k limit.

Replicas aren’t my preference since I’m super finicky and if the dress isn’t exxaaccttllyyy like the picture, I’ll have issues. So I’m hoping to visit shops/ markets that have good stuff on display from where I can choose.

Waiting for some good suggestions

Hi, I'm not from Lahore so won't be able to suggest you any bridal stores. However, I can suggest you some of the top designer brands that I like; HSY, Fahad Hussayn, Bunto Kazmi(her bridal wear is soooo nice) and lastly Faraz Mannan. Most regular bridal stores replicate bridal dresses of such designers however they might ask for atleast 2/3 months to make it and it's a risk as the quality of the replica might not be good. Are there any particular colours or style you are looking for? And is it for all of events or just the main baraat day?

sO I guess it's a hit or miss but I got my clothes from Libaas e khaas (wedding) and Zardosi (walima). Granted we changed the colors to what I wanted but I LOVED them -- looked different than what everyone else is wearing. I had my heart set on HSY but I couldn't get myself to pay that much AND the clothes that were more in my range, I had already seen 2-3 brides wear. I would check out those 2 stores; I personally think most of the designers now are ripping everyone off.

Hi Nimra,
I am actually in the same boat as you - getting married in the next 6 months but have no clue where to start. Please share your experience with shopping in lahore and if you end finding a dress within that budget. Would love to get some ideas and starting point for me. :)

Re: Bridal Dress and wedding shopping - Lahore

Hey Rumz456. I read your vent out and can totally relate. I had given myself a budget of 100k and Alhamdulillah ordered my bridal for exactly that amount. I went to Lahore and checked MM Alam Road and Liberty dupatta gali. MM Alam had few designers which were super expensive. I did like Rani Emaan's dresses the most but they were out of my budget.
Liberty had good variety but I didn't think the prices were justified compared to the work. Although I was happy coz nobody quoted above 150k. I hit jackpot when I went to Babar market in anarkali bazaar. Now you'll find all qualities of work there so don't judge the place (like I did) coz the initial shops I saw had clothes which weren't as per my taste. But eventually alhamdilillah I saw a dress and fell in love! The shop keeper asked for 250k and then very graciously dropped to 180k. We told him our budget was 100k. Had to reduce border thickness and eliminate the work on shirt's back and that's how I got the price reduced to exactly 100k. Expecting the dress in September insha'Allah! fingers crossed
