Because many of not a majority of pakistani weddings are "set" and done in 3 months or less (it is only us non-resident desis that plan a year in advance... most of the places have ready made stuff you can come in, pick and then have sewn together. I actually went with the pre-made stuff b/c i was concerned that i may not get exactly what i had ordered...and with the 3 month wait...i wouldn't know until i was back in the US...for the wedding dress i didn't want any surprises...
