We have set our wedding date for March 2012 and I’m having trouble deciding what style and colour to wear on our Baraat day. I wore the frock below on my engagement so I’d like something different for our main wedding day. Ideally something vibrant that stands out a lot, yet is classy and unique. What’s the latest fashion in Karachi/Pakistan at the moment?
Please help guys, would appreciate your suggestions as I need to visit Karachi in September InshAllah to order my clothes!
It's hard to predict hte trends for a year from now. I don't know if the crazy long shirts will still be in fashion, but I doubt the super-short shirts will be back. I would recommend going with something mid-length and classic if you're making your clohtes well in advance.
Good taste! You look really pretty. I'd say go for knee length shirt (or a little above or below) and that way you can always reuse your shirt atleast as a formal. Personally, which I think ghararas are nice, I love lehngas so go for what you like best. I like the current trent for maxis also ( for Nikkah or Valima) as you can always use that as a dress later without the dubatta. Good luck!
^ That’s what I thought when the short shirt trend started a few years back. Ammi and I visited Karachi in our long shirt outfits, and Nani made us get new stuff.
Yes the super long shirts aren't so in anymore as they used to be even few months back, so for march 2012, I'd suggest you decide your lehnga atleast (the kaam,colours, design) and wait until 2012 to have it stitched.

I only like the reallllllly long shirts with a chooridaar pyjama, I’m 5ft 2 and I feel like it makes me look even shorter so I don’t want a really long shirt with my lengha - I guess I will go mid length. my wedding is also in 2012 but i will go for long shrts with lehnga and other dresses as well
