I’ve been totally engrossed in this book the past couple of days and just wanted to recommend it as an excellent read for anyone.
Anyone else read it?

Is this the same Brick Lane in Whitechapel, London? What's it about?
Yes Mehnaz, its about a girl in bangladesh who has an arranged marriage and ends up spending most of her life in council estate in london. Most of the book is about her struggle to adjust to life in england and bring up her daughters.
Lots of other events happen along the way but I don't really want to spoil it for you. I do think its one of the best books i've read in a long time though and highly recommend it.
Oh wow. My dad used worked in the Brick Lane area from the 60s through to the 80s. We have heard of such struggles of women in the Bengali community many times; not just Bengali actually ... all Asian women. This area is famous for Bengalis though. :)
I will definitely add it on my list of books to read.
