This is what you get when you hype your ordinary players after one ordinary performance against another ordinary team. This humiliation was on the cards for this team after their lacklustre win against Wales.
Given the amount of football that is played in England and given that the English Premier League is THE most lucrative sports league in Europe, England should be making the semi-final stages of every second or third international tournament…AT LEAST. But we know how they fare in major tournaments. Their last win was in 1966!

I think Portugal will beat Wales tomorrow
Germany vs France SF on Thursday is the real deal. Whoever wins this contest will be crowned Euro Champions

So Portugal won despite losing their best player Ronaldo so early on in the game. Portugal do not play attractive football but they defended well against France today.
It wasn't a great final by any means. France were favourites and this was one of the easier finals they could get but they did not play well today. The game lacked flow and rhythm.
France did well to get through against Germany in the SF even though the latter dominated the first half against them and France were lucky to score the first goal via a dubious penalty against the run of play.
This is Portugal's first win in a major tournament. Cristiano Ronaldo has won everything bar the World Cup.
