I dont know if this has been discussed here before or not so i have posted it.
My baby is 7 months old and he breastfeeds since birth and started solids since 6 months old.
I want to start weaning him from breastmilk.
The question is should i introduce him formula or cow’s milk.
How should it be done?
Is this right age to start?
He does’ nt takes bottle but uses a sippy cup.

Doctors in the US recommend waiting until 1year to introduce cow’s milk.

Why do you want to wean him from BM at 7 months, why not wait till he is 12 months?

@ lusi because i am not producing enough for him so i am even thinking of supplementing with formula.

You do not have to wean him off if your supply is low. Just supplement with formula. Cow’s milk after he turns 1.
My daughter is 18 months and I still pump and give her bm. She also takes regular milk as my supply is very low and not enough for her needs.
As long as you can give him bm (islamically I think the age is 2), its very good for him.
I dont know what is the best way to wean off but this is what I did with my first one. He was drinking whole milk along with bm. I reduced the frequency of feeding or pumping. BM is demand and supply so the supply got less and less and then eventually I stopped completely.

No cows milk before the age of 1!
