My friend is breastfeeing her little one and now she come to know that she is pregnant. So question, is it safe what should she do? Little One dont taking bottle (formula). Anyone has any experience???

Ok I just went through this! My baby is 14 months old, so old enough to drink normal milk from a cup and a straw.
One thing is that some say its safe and some say its not, well I asked my OB and she said to stop breastfeeding ASAP.
I didn't take it that seriously and well tried weaning but she was not letting it go .. so kept it on, till I reached the 3 month, thats when my baby
started having the most horrible diarrhea, each time I would feed her, she would just look so pale and the diarrhea would start. So I only feed
during nights, the morning was aweful, she cried and couldn't do a normal po .. where as during day, she was eating other things, it was
somehow Okay. I saw the connection as then I said, this is enough, I can not see her like this anymore and it was hard very hard to wean her
but eventually we did and the diarrhea stopped and now she is eating better now and drinks her milk from a cup and straw.
Another thing, being pregnant and bf was tiring me out, so my health was an issue too. I would listen to my boby and the signs and react
upon it, if its taking a toll on both then its best to stop ASAP.

I heard from someone that islamically you are not allowed to breastfeed your baby when you are pregnant with another. Some older women stopped breastfeeding their infant / toddler the moment they found out they were pregnant with the next.

Automne, its not really islamically, its more that the milk is not good for the baby anymore ... like it was in my case.

I didn't realize that the milk changes! I have heard that some women stop producing milk (but maybe the change in taste makes baby#1 drink less, thus decreasing supply). But it will definitely take a toll on your body and you would need to eat really well and take lots of vitamins. It 's probably a good idea to transition the first baby off breast milk.

i can't help but think it sounds really unfair to that first baby if you got pregnant so soon after giving birth! :/

Well if you want have to have your babies before you hit 35, then you (or me in the case too) have to hurry a bit. :-D

In my experience now its no use starting a bottle, its a bit late (in my case it was too) she should start with a beginners cup .. and then proceed to a normal cup with a straw.
Weaning is another topic, it was very hard for all of us .. but I had no choice and had to let her cry for the few nights, my husband took over, I would leave the room at night when she would wake up asking for it and he would deal with her, he would give her sips of water and she would go back to sleep again after a few cries.
Anyway this problem will be whenever u will start to wean, coz even if you bf the baby for 2 years, one day u will have to deal with it.

Saadia, 35 isn't a deadline for me per se- I mean, I'd love to have the family complete by then, but I'll be 32 when this bean is born iA and I'd like three babies... there's no way I'm going back to back with them haha :p

anyway its ok but its annoying to hear such remarks from ppl, (not here), why so soon ? its not their business .. makes me cringe but I control myself and reply back like I want to be over with it soon or something else.

i am agree with Saadia B, sometime its not in your hand to be pregnant, if someone get preg soon what she should do???????????????

My sister continued to breastfeed her older son when she was pregnant with her second one, she didn't have any issues.

i keep hearing this too but can anyone actually back this up with a source please?
my friend fell pregnant again when her baby was just 3 months old and she stopped breastfeeding instantly because she said islam says so - but what fault was this of the babies to be deprived of breast milk?!

i think untill you are fine there is no harm to breastfeed.
