Breast pump

Re: Breast pump

Lusi , here you go :
‘Tongue-tie is a fairly common condition that runs in families. It occurs when a thin web of skin under the tongue connects the tip of the tongue to the floor of the mouth. The tip of the tongue may appear heart-shaped rather than round, especially when the tongue is lifted.’

Re: Breast pump

^^ So does this effects the speech of the person or something like that?

Re: Breast pump

No , not at all , the only problem might be when a baby tries to feed.Even then , my baby was fine , the only thing was , I was in pain. Unless ofcourse it is very severe ( as in tight ), which I have no info about.

Re: Breast pump

I don't have a lactation consultant but I guess I could find one....before I left the hospital the nurses checked to make sure the baby was latched on properly and they said everything was fine. But then a week later I started feeling horrible pain especially on one side and I would dread feeding from that side and then I noticed a deep cut and it was bleeding. For a few days now I've been avoiding feeding from that side because it hurts so much and I want the cut to heal properly because when I continued to feed from that side I found the cut got worse. I've been using the Lansinoh cream too but I know such a deep cut needs alot of time to heal completely :( The thing is I think I need both to feed my baby properly and to relieve the engorgement but I'm afraid to because of the pain.....Did you all continue to feed your baby with the cuts and bleeding?

Re: Breast pump

Meem first of all congratualtions :hugz:

Second of all, i know how worse that pain is.
however thats what most of first time mothers go through due to improper latching.
If you wanto continue feeding you’ll have to learn the proper technique from a consultant and when you start latching the baby on properly, the pain will automatically disappear.

Re: Breast pump

A lactation consultant told me that she had one lady come in on her 5th child and the same pump.

cost around 2-300 in the US.

Double pumps- you do feel like a cow sometimes…breastfeeding is so much nicer. But if you have to pump…it’s good to make it easy.

Re: Breast pump

Where are you? You really should get an lactation consutlant…if you don’t feed from one side you’ll have lopsided breasts…also latching issues can be fixed etc..so it’s not as painful. You can also get a breast sheild that protects your breast and allows you to nurse..but really get back to the hospital and ask them. most US hospitals have a free LC liine to call and get help..

Re: Breast pump

Ok I worked on my latch and am much better now Alhumdolillah! Thanks everyone for your advice!

Re: Breast pump

^ did you notice that the minute the baby started latching on properly it doesnt hurt. Even though its still sore and blistered

Good on you :hugz:
