Consmetic surgery can also be a confidence booster for some people. there are also health benefits such as breast reduction. If people want it....it is no one's business or judgment.
I don't think it's worth the risk of going under the knife. SOmething can and might go wrong during or after the job. I have seen many Dateline NBC documentaries on such mis-ops and some end up close to losing their lives.
Health risk can be substantial. Mostly because of the "unknown". I believe they have discontinued using Silicon and are now using Saline. Still they won't know all the side-effects till a few years have gone by. Same is true for any ground-breaking medical treatment. Botox, Lasik and Breast augmentation are unique because they are generally considered only cosmetic in nature.
In any case, its a personal decision. Little to do with desi or not. However, Pakistani muslim women generally didn't flaunt their body shapes, but that seems to be rapidly changing too.
I remember when I went to my high school prom back in the day, all the girls who were 'flat' magically appeared with boobs. Needless to say, by the end of the evening, the tissues were showing. It was quite funny! Poor girl was made fun out of till we graduated.
i think everyione should just be happy with what they've got.. i get cranky cus i look fat cus of mine... lekin i know when i wear certain clothes i look fine...
and girls who dont have a chest... man! at least u can wear t-shirts and any other kinda shirts and not have to worry bout the buttons going undone..
just say Alhamdulillah and get on with life..
donate the money for a better cause... ie. sponsor a kid, give the money to the masjid..
So like what if the physician messes up the augmentation job and makes one boob heavier/bigger than the other. Can you imagine the calibration problems? How would you balance em.
