Breaking news: US Soldiers sick of getting killed

“It upsets me to see my brothers fall and die,” Pfc. Luis Flores told the North County Times. “It makes me angry. You feel sorry for the families.”

“I’m tired of Americans getting killed,” Longridge said. “That stuff was going on when I was there.”

These boys catch on real fast!

Good on them. They know that Bush's evil campaign has pushed the US military right to the edge of the cliff...

Also from the article:

Flores and Longridge told the Times that the recent violence has motivated them to go back to Iraq, where they hope to root out insurgents and help the Iraqi people.

:k: Good for them. More than anyone here is doing.

They can help by getting killed before they kill any more innocents...but then it's back to the headline :o crazy isn't it...

Well i hope they die a relatively painless death.

For one moment, strip out from the debate the official administration policy and the hidden or not so hidden agendas attributed to the leaders in America. The sentiment of these American soldiers also represents the sentiment and motivation of the majority of the average American people. I.e. people willing to put their own lives at risk or the lives of their families and loved ones at risk for the selfless motive of “help[ing] the Iraqi people.” Not for money. Not for oil. Not for power. Not for the pleasure of killing, oppressing, harassing or annoying.

You may cavalierly argue that the soldiers and American people are brainwashed, unintelligent, illiterate, stupid or what have you because you disagree with the policy. But as you take glee in the deaths of young Americans in your postings, maybe for one brief moment you might also take note that these are people willing to give up their lives under a belief that their sacrifice will help people of a different land experience a better life.

What is in the hearts of these soldiers represents the best of humanity. That many of them will be taken from us at such a young age is very painful. Such a difference from what is in the hearts of those who will take those lives.

Help the iraqi people by not killing their children. That would be a start myvoice.

Dunno if they are motivated, but they sure are ordered to report to duty to be shipped back there again. Being soldiers they can only obey orders

‘US troops in Iraq losing stomach for fight’

"Nearly three quarters American soldiers polled in Iraq said their battalion level command leadership is ‘poor’ and shows ‘a lack of concern’ for their soldiers. "

“Perhaps the most surprising findings were the grim conclusions about troop morale, which indicate that Iraq is taking a toll that goes beyond casualty figures,” The Washington Post said.

"The Pentagon has been intensely worried that more frequent and longer combat tours will prompt more soldiers to get out of the Army rather than re-enlist,

Rejoice boys!

The suicide rate among U.S. soldiers in Iraq far exceeds the Army average and experts believe more mental health specialists should be sent to Iraq, among other measures, officials said on Wednesday.

Keep cheering the good old boys on while they slit their own throats, can’t you see they want out…support them!

Put them out of their pain...

Very well said MyVoice, but I fear that your explaination will not be heard, or will be cynically twisted into some trite debating point.

What seems to be missed here is that the US, and it's citizens has a deep and abiding hatred of tyrants and despots. Some, are not important enough to expend American lives for, others we engage to try to change behavior, or browbeat in hopes of change.

No one will truely understand the sacrifice that the US is willing to make in hopes of bettering the lives of Iraqi people. Our Billions, our sons and daughters, our National energy, the folks her cannot and will not understand. None of the soldiers trying to maintain peace owns stock in Halliburton, and no one has preached worl dominion to them.

In a strange way I am happier to see our troops cleaning out Fallujah, rather than getting picked off one by one. Bring it to a head with a two bit cleric-thug and let the chips fall where they may. They may not like us, but they will respect us. The true success of this will only be known 10 years from now.

Ohioguy does that love include:

  1. The love for killing children?
  2. The love for destroying mosques (i would say religious shrines, but everybody knows its only mosques you lot attack)
  3. The love for violating all the norms of warfare
  4. The love for violating the Geneva convention on war?

Good job making the marines angry. The terrorists will pay for this mistake. Already 300+ terrorists have paid with their lives for killing 30 us soldiers.

Iraqis are terrorist now are they in there own country talk about taking the biscuit.

Generalise why not, your very good at that.

What it is to be a worn cog in a murderous machine that needs oil to keep on chugging and keep on slaughtering.
