Breaking News: Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan commander surrenders

Re: Breaking News: Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan commander surrenders

wine

A fool was riding an elephant when the elephant ran over an killed a lion. The fool thought that it was his power not the elephant that killed the lion.

Next day he boasted that he is brave enough to kill a lion and to prove it he went alone into the jungle.

No one ever saw him alive again.

It was the backing of the United States and the unlimited quantity of money and weapons supplied by them and Saudi Arabian oil dollars that defeated the Soviets in AFghanistan.

Any given day in the 1980s the Soviets could have sent the full Red Army and the millions of guns that defeated Hitler's army into Balochistan and on to Islamabad. But they did not dare to because US veto in SEcurity Council and US military backing was with us.

Because the US did not want to be seen as the aggressor, it was happy to let ISI handle everything and take all credit.

This time around US is not like Soviets and when they saw us playing a double game, they did not hesitate to send drones and even soldiers into our land.

What more, they are now using all their powers to make our own army fight its creations.

THAT is real power. Not some Taliban commander making a hit and run attack in AFghanistan.

The real powerful are the people no one ever hears about but who controls everything.

US may be in "misery" but an average American has a quality of life, even in depression, that is a hundred years ahead of most of us will ever see in Pakistan. That is the economic and political power that enables a country to play games around the world.

We think we can play same games while dependent on kashkol to keep our economy from defaulting on loans.

Do you realize that US spends in one day for war supply more money than we can spend in one year? Do you realize that 1970s US technology was ahead of where we are in 2009?

We like to think of ourselves as some sort of carriers of Babur and Salahuddin. Everyone forgets that Babur conquered everything from AFghanistan to Eastern India because he had superior technology to go with motivated fighters.

Saying Kalima-e-Shahadat with a knife against a gun is not brave - it is stupid.

Think again and this time think with brains and not loins. Jazbaati thinking without the power to back it up is one of our main issues.

Great :@: .... we will talk about it ..after 10 years !

Re: Breaking News: Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan commander surrenders

Sure, pointing out brutal facts tends to do such things to our jazbaati warrior types. It is funny how hypocritical your statements are, maybe you haven't even thought about them.

We want to complain that Indians or Americans are conspiring to do this and that. We say India has small heart and treats us like little brother and not with izzat.

Yet you want us to do the same thing to Afghans. You think you know exactly who shoud rule there.

You will not agree on Taliban's behaviour in your town. You will not want to subject your women to the brutality we saw in Swat. That is great.

Yet you are happy for our agencies to support the people who did same things to Afghans. You in fact defend such steps in the name of Ummah and strategy.

Remember that when you play with fire just outside your house, sooner or later your house is going to be toast.

This is where we agree!!!

Iss Khushi vich, kicch ke Juphi Payiee :D

jokers are terrorists, aint they??

Maybe but catching low level thugs while "protecting" or "shielding" top people like Baitullah Mahsud and Fazlullah is not going to cut it this time.

We can fool the Americans for a while but we cannot fool ourselves.

Besides, my understanding was that a thug named Mangal Bagh was commander of TTP in areas near Peshawar and Jamrud.

Either the current operation ends only after Fazullah and Baitullah surrender or get killed or we will know that this is all a fake effort to give cover for our leaders visits to US.
