In a huge blow to Pakistan, offspinner Saeed Ajmal has been banned from bowling in international cricket by the ICC.
“An independent analysis has found the bowling action of Pakistan’s off-spinner Saeed Ajmal to be illegal and, as such, the player has been suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect,” an ICC release said. “The analysis revealed that all his deliveries exceeded the 15 degrees level of tolerance permitted under the regulations.”
Ajmal's doosra always looked suspect but apparently all his other deliveries also exceeded the 15 degrees legal limit. Big blow but he can go away and modify his action and apply for a reassessment before the World Cup (I guess)

But PCB has some other plans instead of modifying it they are going to complain
I think instead of wasting time, PCB should ask a bowling specialist (Saqlain etc.) to work on Ajmal's action and then apply for a reassessment. Not much time left before the World Cup..
Sad to hear of Ajmal’s ban… I can possibly understand the doosra but offbreaks? I hope he can correct his actions in time for CWC’15

Make no mistake that bowling a Doosra and reverse swing are brilliant skills.. Do we want the Doosra banned?

Career ending for Ajmal, will never sort that action out. Can you
imagine Murali changing action and being just as effective ?

2 UAE spinners had doosras ruled illegal & another is absent pending testing. They always felt they suffered as board isn’t as strong as PCB

Ajmal is kind of arrogant. Once behind the screen he said to some anchor that his doosra is not a 'copy' of Saqlain's. When that anchor asked him live about his doosra then he tired doging the question.
