ISLAMABAD: PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, in a surprise move on Monday, admitted to have made mistakes, extended an apology and appealed to Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif to rejoin the coalition government for the sake of the country and democracy.
Mr Zardari, however, made it clear that he was not willing to immediately reinstate deposed chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.
Mr Zardari admitted that he had signed “political understandings” with Mr Sharif, but asked the PML-N chief to realise the difficult situation they had come across after the resignation of President Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf. Without explaining, he said they had taken the help of “some friends within and outside the country in the ouster of President Musharraf”.
On Saturday, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had disclosed that Asif Zardari had told him that some forces, who had played an important role in the resignation of President Musharraf, did not want immediate restoration of all the deposed judges, including chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry.
I wonder who these forces are, and what the details of the deal were. The people need to know.

apparently, Musharraf signed the notification BEFORE leaving the office. we will have to wait for the rest, since under NEW “constitutional setup” only the President of Pakistan can issue such “executive order” or Parliament can do it via constitutional amendment.
My understanding of present situation is that: NS knew how a Chief Justice can make life of government difficult. He has experience with Sajjad Ali Shah and wanted to use his experience against last government. Once he moved to London, this crook started looking to buy anyone in Pakistan who was ‘bikao maal’ so that he can destabilise the government. He got his prize purchase when corrupt Iftikhar Chaudhari became Chief Justice. He bought him and used him in best way to make governing Pakistan difficult. His paid goon as Chief Justice was interfering with day to day government functions, from security to traffic jams, from price of banana to how to run the government. This crook was harassing any government official who was not ready to sell their soul to Ganja.
When Iftikhar got suspended waiting enquiry, Ganja with the help of BeNazir used lawyers in party payroll to destabilise government further. Zardari knows that Iftikhar is 'bika hua maal' and Ganja own him, as it was PPP that helped Nawaz in fulfilling his move to destabilise government using judiciary. PPP knows that they were giving the right type of supports (public and lawyers on their payroll) as Ganja did not had required supports, but from behind the scene it was Ganja who was firing the shot. PPP purpose of giving support was to pressurise past government into withdrawing all corruption cases against them, then get past government out of power and themselves into power. Once they are in power, it is understandable that they would never put Nawaz paid mulazim 'Ch Iftikhar' as Chief Justice.
