Just watching this. Eye witnesses are saying a fight broke out on the plane? I just hope this is a misunderstanding. The last thing any national airline needs is publicity of a bomb and then the question of how did it get on the plane.

That's the info given to ground staff/ATC and the decision to divert was made thus the RAF escorts.
Reports are coming through that travellers are being told to leave their belongings and only take their passports. God help those with little ones! You need your bloody nappies, bottles etc. But I guess safety first.

i just heard on Pakistani channel that the ATC in Manchester received threatening calls after the pilot had changed his assigned route. they arrested two passengers who are thought to be danger to the flight.

My sister and BIL were on this plane and some of our close family, the plane has been landed safely at Sansted instead of Manchester Airport.
They are not letting passengers take any thing other than their passport and taking passengers to some other place.
My dad has gone to Manchester airport to collect them. We are unable to contact them as their phones are still off. So much annoyed and worried. I hope my sister gets home safely.

Just saw on TV k PIA crew over reacted there was just a small fight between 2 passengers and the crew, some issue on seat.
My bil's cousin is on same flight, and BIL is at airport and been told there is a terrorist on flight and two been arrrested.

So the two fellows fought with each other in plane and then with crew, and one boasted screaming that he'll bl0w the plane. Later when arrested, they kept on insisting that they were just joking.
Apparently Pakistanis find it always hard not to say/do things which can bring drastic repercussions.

probably, these are the two passengers but let’s see…two more passengers are under arrest…donoN meN Khaandaanii jhagRaa sabab bataayaa gayaa hai.
looks like it was a small event and the pilot panicked…he was supposed to call the local police but he pushed the panic button instead.

Apparently there was a “healthy” discussion b/w some passengers and one of them lovingly said, “Oye men teri %$#%$#$# phar dunga”.. that was interpreted wrongly as “I’ll bl0w your plane”..

I think the idiots should be put away. If these guys do not know when to fight then they need to put in solitary confinement for a long time..
I think the pilot took the right decision. Better to be safe than sorry. Who knows if it would have been a setup. A mock fight which turns ugly.
With the kind of psychos and the heightened terror perception , I believe that the pilot needs to be commended for his decision.
