Re: BREAKING NEWS: Presidential Election/ Zardari Elected as President of Pakistan

Imo

In view of the present state of affaires, I hope and speculate some thing good will happen
from this outcome.
Prseident Zardari (President of Pakistan has limited powers to constitute changes or abrupt aieen as was possible in the past) later will be on parliament agenda asap.

On the contrary I'm worried about PM Yousuf Raza Gilani who seems weak and less experienced to run portfolios on International affaires surrounding Pakistan.

D E M O C R A C Y

*Quote of the Day :D *

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Presidential Election/ Zardari Elected as President of Pakistan

Asif Ali Zardari is Pakistan's 11th President excluding acting presidents

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Presidential Election/ Zardari Elected as President of Pakistan

lol...he got some 65% of votes...and none is on this forum happy so far... :D

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Presidential Election/ Zardari Elected as President of Pakistan

The final result:

Zardari: 479
Siddiqui: 153
Mushahid: 43

The total electoral votes are 702 of which 675 were cast.

Zardari received 68% of the total vote of the electoral college and 71% of the votes cast.

People in NA, Senate and provincial assembly are representatives of the people and what they vote is what people want. Presidential election should clear what people really want in Pakistan. People want Zardari to be President of Pakistan (well, something achieved because Thug Nawaz wanted Zardari badly as President, so he did all to make President Musharraf step down so that Zardari can get into the office of President). Further, people want clean Judiciary and thus wanted unclean Iftikhar out of Judiciary as all who voted Zardari knew his stand on Iftikhar.

Let see what this thug Zardari who is gift to Pakistan from Nawaz would do. One thing is for sure and that is, Zardari and Nawaz are not politicians but crooks who do not care for Pakistan but their own pocket. Zardari is new on top and we do not know what he can do, as in the past he was working under BB, but as for Nawaz, he has certainly harmed, looted, and divided Pakistan.

Zardari till now did only financial corruptions but I hope that he is not dangerous for the country, but Nawaz is certain dangerous to the country. Certain misdeeds of Nawaz as Prime Minister is that, Nawaz tried to bribe or fought against Judiciary (1 ... Sajjad Ali Shah), Presidency (2 ... Ishaq Khan, Musharraf) and Armed forces (2 ... Jahangir Karamat and Musharraf) for the sake of his personal financial and power gains, something at least BB never did. As Chief Minister, he tried everything to destabilise the government of BeNazir in Islamabad (harming the country). BB has no such record.

To me, the situation Pakistan is in, could be the start of a journey that can destroy Pakistan unless Army moves in with intention to shoot and clean corrupts like Zardari and Nawaz, or a bloody revolution that bring similar results. I hope that I am wrong, but on the other hand, it is no good that after all is gone, we sing about our bad luck.

Contrast with the Gupshup poll , GupShup Forums - View Poll Results , which showed
Asif Ali Zardari (PPP) 6 11.76%
Justice Saeeduzzaman Siddiqui (PML-N) 35 68.63%
Mushahid Hussain (PML-Q) 10 19.61%

Evidentally Gupshup is distanced from the political realities of Pakistan.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Presidential Election/ Zardari Elected as President of Pakistan

Pakistan se Zinda Bhag

&

Na Tera Pakistan hai Na Mera Pakistan hai
Ye us ka Pakistan hai jo sadr-e-Pakistan hai

both are truer than ever today.

As Musharraf as had said with hands raised as a closing gesture in his resignation address;

"Pakistan ka Khuda Hafiz Ho"
