Breaking News Pakistan - Petrol price cut by Rs 3 per liter
SLAMABAD: The federal government on Monday rejected a summary of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to slash the prices of petroleum products by Rs7 per litre.

Govt doesn't have guts to impose taxes on agricultural superlords and other bigwigs, so it makes do with indirect taxes. As an american journalist said, Pakistan would be 'heaven' for GOP.

It is not guts, it is the corruption of FBR people which is biggest hurdle in tax collection, this is how they work
If The corporate tax due is Rs. 60 Million.
They will ask u to pay Rs.10 million to them, 10 million to govt...remainder in form of indirect taxes is collected and/or they simply revise thw rac target.
It is not politicians or army generals or landlords, it is bureaucracy which is eating out Pakistan...get rid of FBR and Pakistan's annual tax revenue shall surpass Rs 5000 mark easily.

He is an idiot (Pardon my French) an accountant who may be can play with figures, but surely have no idea on how to improve economy, hence is spoon fed by FBR officials…and worst thing is, his daughter is married in Sharif family..so.not that idiot after all..

This is the same case with habib and national bank etc. Look at how the banking sector flourished after privatization but it was failing before. Sure, you can blame the inept management, but that is appointed by politicians / big wigs who were regularly defaulting on loans to the loss of Pakistan.
