That should be it. Pakistan must clearly tell that if there is any action against the captain, as the ICC official said, Pakistan will not only walk out of ODIs but also won't play international cricket. THAT SHOULD BE IT! No goddamnit can be a holy cow by virtue of being a stubborn umpire.

I am a huge cricket fan but i won't mind if Pakistan pull out of any future tournaments where Hair is officiating. Apparently complained against Hair earlier this year that they don't like Hair's attitude and ICC responded with appointing him in EVERY single series we have played since then.

icc is blind or just racist.why can't they see something wrong with this guy hair.he did not interpret the law correctly when he called murali for chucking...according to the icc laws, the on field umpire is supposed to report any suspect bowling action to the the 3rd umpire and the decision against the bowler is taken by the icc following the game not by the umpire on the ground,
hair should have been fired after that bad decision against murali,but he was persisted with but the i.c.c and since then he has been involved in more controversial decisions.yesterday he was supposed to talk to inzamam and explain to him the reasons for his decision before penalizing pakisan according to rules,he did'nt do that at all.

Pakistan has considerable leverage in the cricketing world, the team is clearly one of the best and matches of Pakistan with other cricketing nations bring in tons of revenue to everyone concerned, including ICC. So it would make sense to withdraw from the cricketing scene for some times till Pakistan's cricketing demands are met. The other nations where cricket would be the most popular sport would be maybe India or the West Indies. Generally, cricket is perceived to have declining popularity in Australia, England and even South Africa which would now be hosting the World Cup football tournaments in 2010. So Pakistan's withdrawal might as well be the death knell for this sport, which should put ICC on the defensive. Worth consideration, at the least.
