**The end of another dictatorship! Congratulations to all the people of Pakistan! The senile dictator, who uptil a few days ago was gloating ‘mey resign nayee karoon ga’, has finally realized he has no ground to stand on anymore. Lets hope hes punished and made an example of, so that other future dictators do not come and rape this country like Musharraf did so. We made a mistake of supporting him in the beginning too, so we were at fault too. However, let this be a lesson and never support another dictatorship in this country. We need a stable democracy now, free from any foreign/miscreant mischievousness.

i was totally did not think Musharaf would resign so easily,i guess there could be positive changes made to Pakistan with him finally giving up being President.

I agree to the fact that, NS and AZ are not capable of leading they are just thugs of town., but no matter how bad they were/are they and there team is ten time better than Mush's team, which was composed of Ch. of Gujrat, and MQM, who ever think that, the politicians under Mush's team could have done any good to Pakistan might be a fool or they just have closed their eyes from these facts.
I agree mushy was one of the best thing ever happend to Pakistan but that is till he assembled the gang of looters from both PPP and PML (N) . If he was ever sincere to Pakistan, he should have assembled a team of better politicians, but Pakistan was not his top priority, it was his seat, for which he have bluntly lied, broken the constitution, created Crisis after Crisis.
On top of every thing, he gave life to the rejected parties of PPP and PML(N). he should have been hanged. He single handedly paused the progress of Pakistani Nation for more or less 9 years and after all these years we are still with NS and AZ.

NS and AZ should have been hanged long ago, when PPL where against them, he allowed them to go and live like a king, this was the crime for which he should be hanged.

Musharraf saved Pakistan from certain attack and destruction at the hands of US troops. Decades of bad governance and out of control elements in government institutions had created terror centers in Pakistan and after 9/11 it was Musharraf who led admirably in keeping cluster bombs out of Pakistan.
But he mishandled the nepotism charges on CJ.Iftekhar and from that point has led emotion get the better of him in ruling the country culminating in the Lal Masjid atmosphere. Instead of leaving two years ago now he has dragged on thus causing further embarassment to Pakistan.
But the worst mistake of Musharraf is he is leaving the country in the hands of Zardari and Sharief! The very same type of people who caused the mis-governance and institutional out-of-control acts in the past!

Pres. Musharraf did not do anything that would harm Pakistan. How can we trust the thieves and elitist Zardari and Nawaz yet again when we know these two are far far far worse than our outgoing president. How can we forget the troubles Pakistan endured right after 911 and the Indian military confrontation when both armies were eye ball to eye ball that followed right after to pressure Pakistan? How can we forget the economic hardship of late 90's during Nawaz sharif's rule? Are we as a nation really that dumb and blind? Who is there now to stop Mr. 10% and Mr. Elitist?
One thing that nobody can deny is that Pres. Musharraf is 10000 times more sincere and patriotic then any other person who currently is a leader. In previous 8 months I have not heard about a single issue in Pakistan other than restoration of judges and courts. Are these really the direst issues our country is facing? Are we blind to see that even though we do have other judges as capable as the suspended ones, but do we have a leader who is as honest as Pres. Musharraf? Who is better in this day and age? Do we really think we can go against the wishes of America today? Are we realistically that powerful? What is it that Pakistan did not achieve in last 8 years? Can anyone think of a time in Pakistan's history when the media was more independent than it is now? When did we have more transparent election then the most recent one?
I don't know why but it is there throughout in our history that whenever there is a change in power our nation comes out on the streets and start dancing as though it is really going to fix every single issue immediately. Of course it won’t happen; people will get tired of the new govt just like they did with the previous one and will again dance on streets when the army takes over again in a few years (I remember the fan fair when Gen. Musharraf took over).
Today, my heart is distressing because we have badly broken the heart of an honest person who has served our country for almost 45 years. I don’t know if God will ever forgive us for this. Unlike Nawaz Sharif and Zardari, Pres. Musharraf did not have any desire to be in power to begin with. He was sort of force to take command and the events in the U.S and the region that followed never let Gen. Musharraf sort out issues properly.
I know in just a few months Pakistanis will be missing Pres. Musharraf and his honesty and sincerity. Pres. Musharraf was right when he said -Pakistan ka Allah hafiz!

After Jinnah, Musharraf was the only person who actually worked as a real leader with Pakistan's interest in mind rather than other agenda.
But Pakistan over decades has become very caustic. Even people like Musharraf once they immerse themselves into this caustic politics become very corrupted (in his case not in terms of money of self interest but in terms of ego and priorities). To that extent all politicians have to be blamed for this. And the people who support these dirty politicians.
Now, both the politicians and people have found a good scape goat in Musharraf and that is why all the celebrations.
