That is sad news indeed. We cant afford to lose someone like SA, no matter how he is, he is a match winner bowler. lets hope he gets well soon

Shoaib Akhter pulls out another cat out of the bag, now he has injured his knee or sud I say he suffers from brain damage.
Maybe he has done the right thing given the situation with doping hanging like a sword.

And the soap opera continues. One day I would liek to sit down and analyse whether he has taken more wickets for pakistan or has given them more injuries. It will be a close run thing but I think his injuries total (both actual and fake) will just pip the wickets.

Well injure-prone Akhtar, hit-and-miss Afridi and the ever-so-inconsistent openers should be thought of as our bonus players.
i.e. Pakistan's final WC XI = 11 players + 4 bonus members
Even if Akhtar somehow recovers in time from his latest injury, there's every chance of him breaking down before an important WC game.
So no real surprise there.

Fine, ur a good bowler,, it was fun seeing you ball.. but if ur not fit, ur nothing... go try ur luck in the movies,,, humara damagh na kharab karo. I'm sick of him! or maybe i'm pissed off that its monday tommorow and I just spent two hours ironing my clothes!

I think he is covering himself thinking he might get banned for life if when they test him again before the WC. If it all actor is a media follower. And he is following the rumors about testing positive for Nand again.

atleast it will make things a little easy for the selectors to pick the 15 players.. wese.. all in all its pathetic to see that pcb is trying players for last two years for the WC and just before the world cup they bring in imran nazir to it as opener. and he just had one good game. so does it justify for nazir to be picked up for the WC ? how can we say he is better then Imran Farhat ? i will preffer Imran all day because of his technique and the fact he is with the team for a while.

I dont understand how he got inured this time around. Wasnt he suppose to recover the hamstring injury from SA and rest. What did he do, didnt play cricket?

I was thinking same. Since his drug level was very high, and may not cleared up so fast, so PCB and he himself fear a life ban so may have opted out of WC.
Additionally, since he always had strained relations with Inzi and Bob Wooler (both baryani dushmuns), most probably these two individuals will relinguish their respective positions after WC, so Shoaib may come back after WC and may like to play for few more years.

It was Inzimam who made Asif bowl for straight 10overs, not Pcb management. Sending back Kaneria was Tour team management decision that included Inzimam. Playing Rana was tour team managment decision not Pcb managment. If anyone needs to beblamed its Inzimam and Bobby boy.

quite likely. Many ppl will think that our chances in cup are slim anyway. So why risk being banned for ever. Rather risk INZI not stepping down after the cup and make a fitness comeback after the cup.
Howver, with all the crazy stuff that goes on, all of our theories might go to dust with a surprise announcement in a day or so.

Inzamam plays every game 70% fit, what is wrong with Shoaib? He came back to cricket after six months and pulls a muscle??? Was it on field or off??
I think he will be in the World Cup, just staying away from headlines. Too many controversies are not good for him. It’s fine even if he is not present for World Cup opener, but it is a must for him to be in the team against England, NZ, Australia and India. Pakistan will surely than make it to semi, Inshallah. After that I do not think average Pakistani will care how much fit he is...he just has to play.
He knows very well that come this World Cup, his legacy is on the line. He must perform well to make his case about him as one of the great bowlers of this time. He still have competitiveness in him....otherwise, even a Pakistani will not remember him and always regard him as a bowler who abandoned his team when needed.
