Breaking news.......Inzamam keeps Pakistan captaincy

No surprises but…
BBC SPORT | Cricket | International Teams | Pakistan | Inzamam keeps Pakistan captaincy
Inzamam-ul-Haq has been confirmed as Pakistan captain until next year’s World Cup in the Caribbean.
He has been reappointed by the Pakistan Cricket Board after leading the team to victory over West Indies in a home Test and one-day series.
"We have decided to retain Inzamam as we want to maintain continuity and stability in the team.
“We feel Inzamam has done an admirable job in binding the team together,” said PCB chairman Dr Naseem Ashraf.
Inzamam is one of the most experienced players in world cricket, having appeared in 116 Tests and 370 one-dayers.
And he is hoping to atone for a miserable World Cup in South Africa in 2003 when he only managed 19 runs in six matches.
Before heading to the Caribbean, Inzamam has the task of skippering Pakistan on a tour to South Africa where they will play three Tests and five one-day internationals.
Talat Ali has been named as team manager for both tours and the squad for the South African trip will be named in the near future. Their warm-up game against South Africa A begins at Kimberley on 6 January.

The first test starts on 11 January 2007.

^ ASN? Welcome back :k:

as for the ‘breaking news’… I guess for the fans it was ‘given’ that Inzamam will remain the captain till WC’07 but there was a ‘news’ (statement) from the PCB chairman while Inzamam was out and Younis became skipper that Inzamam will be ‘watched closely’ if to be nominated captain for the WC.
