I’m from Sydney and it’s quite crazy. Some say 13-50 hostages have been taken in but who knows the exact number. This place is a very popular spot and it is centre of many activities- like courts, tv channels and cafes, hospital etc.
The gunmen even called a radio station to try to get the hostage to talk to the host but the host refused. Good move. The last thing they need is more publicity. People from all over including opera house have been evacuated.
My friend works 200m from the cafe site and her office is in lockdown with police telling them not to leave.

The bold part has a big lesson for IndoPak media. Its impossible to think of a subcontinent radio or TV channel to refuse a rating booster like this.
