He didnt keep his promise.. He never stated when he would end the emergency, so there was no promise to keep…
The Emergency should never have been placed in the first place as it was only a means for the dictator to perpetuate is corrupt rule..
Everything he said about WHY the Emrgency was imposed was proved to be a COMPLETE lie…
So dont thank god unless you WANT people to be oppressed and abused, and a dictatorial tyrant to rule…
Thank God for the intenational communtiy which pressured this tin pot dictator to end his grab for power early before it did more damage.
I dont know, that usually happens when they dictator is assasinated or forced to leave.. Benzair seems to think it will be AFTER the elections…
But no matter what, you know as well as I how dictators end.
Its I thought you "wouldnt."
:) If your going to attempt to act smart, atleast use proper grammer.
Most people dont understand you dictator supporters anyway...
It is not because of gandhi lifting emergency. It is because of government getting bankrupt in 1991 and Narasimha rao and manmohan singh initiating reforms later that got things moving(stress on the word "moving" and not rapid development). In short, indian government started abandoning socialist policies in economy.
oh I agree it wasn't BECAUSE of that. I was trying to say that values of people change by things like 'emergency' and martial law. And I was hoping such change will bring some sanity in Pakistan.
How democracy in Pakistan affects the life of poor Pakistanis?
How Military rule in Pakistan affects the life of poor Pakistanis?
How things become different for majority of poor Pakistanis when emergency get imposed and how things become different to them when emergency get lifted?
I am asking because I lived in Pakistan during Martial law as well as during democracy, I lived in Pakistan during emergency and when there was no emergency.
Even though I am from middle class family, I found very little change. Actually, I found less crime and easy access to government offices when there was military rule in Pakistan and mayhem (everyone looking for rushwat or connections) whenever there was democracy in Pakistan.
Please can anyone who considers that they are amongst poor or middle class Pakistanis (that consists of over 90 percent of Pakistani Population) finds my experience same as theirs?
