i don't think Americans wud let SaleH go because he has convinced the US that Al-Qaida is present in Yemen and they will take over...larger than life portrayal of AQ by Saleh for his own vested interests :D

I am usually an unabashed fan of America but one of the things that we always seem to get wrong is, in the guise of helping societies develop, sometimes we push some societies too fast - in the process end up supporting the wrong guy/regime. Make the wrong guy strong and then when it hits the fan and his true color shows, end having fight that same dude. country after country America does that.
Wonder what will happen if America hardens a policy that we won't support any unelected regime unless they establish legitamacy within 12months of coming to power

Not redrawing any maps. This isn't a struggle between two or more states to capture territory. This is more like civil uprising against authoritarian rule. Hopefully more democratic and progressive leadership will emerge.
