It is quite possible. Because Americans forces did come across a double in chitral. Only DNA tests revealed that he was not such. However, it is unlike US to announce such high profile killing without DNA testing and proper confirmation. I believe that he is dead.

This whole operation sounds too risky and its implications for Pakistan are enormous in theory.

LOL...Bin Laden was "hiding" in a mansion 100+ kms from Islamabad, and the Pak authorities had no clue where he was. What a load of BS !!

This also explains what the likes of Raymond Davis have been doing in Pak.

why do the officials think that muslims would want to honor his slain body if it is his body?

unless they are extremists that were his fans most muslims would reject burying the body with islamic death rites

Rest assured, taking an opinion with a pinch of salt won't rescue the world or destroy it. However to masquerade a killing at a timely moment (as has been done many times by CIA) will serve the current Obama govt. very well. It will also help PPP in Pakistan.

However, most journalists who met him before are questioning this claim. They want a "real" body and full proof that infact he was killed on Sunday and not many years ago, but not declared since the "witch hunt" was more important to be continued.

Its not a conspiracy, its a simple question to the "supposed supermen of the world" i.e. the US/CIA. So he was hiding under plain sight in Abbottabad and not the mountains and caves of waziristan....? so nice to let us know.

AlJazeera just interviewed some neighbors of the "MANSION" where he was killed. And they are saying that it was virtually impossible for them to believe that such a high profile person was hiding and living there. One said that he walked past the house almost daily and since it is a high security area (kakul campus area) that he was questioned and checked for his ID as were others by MPs and other agencies always.

Wow i am speechless at the all the “conspiracy” theories. We need to stop with the conspiracy theories and accept the reality. Whether its a cricket match or a political upset, we have a theory for everything.

Having said that, I think this is mixed news for us. Yes, good riddance…but there is a very uphilll battle awaiting us. Lots of unanswered questions.

What baffles me is, how is the worlds most wanted terrorist hiding in Pakistani military base backyard, without ISI knowing about it? It wasn’t a cave in a mountain…it was a luxurious compound. How is it possible that USA was able to find this clue, but ISI wasn’t? I understand that Obama did credit pakistan for some intelligence help but shouldn’t it have been ISI that located bin laden and killed him?
Why was this operation carried about by USA? Can you imagine pakistan troops coming to USA and collecting information about most wanted terrorist and also carrying out an operation on american soil; and then Zardari making a call to Obama to update him on the status? It should have been us that carried out the operation and we should have made the call to Obama, not the other way around
What is a saudi born, sudan/afghan bred terrorist doing in Pakistan? How did he manage to get into the country after he was already labelled as the worlds most wanted terrorist? What does it say about the safety of the country?
Why did he choose Pakistan? Was it because he was getting help from ISI or some top political powers in Pakistan? Why was he so confident that he would be safe in pakistan so as to choose pakistan as his safe haven?

I hope Zardari doesnt take any credit for this, and does not spin this off as a great achievement by Pakistan. I think people of Pakistan need lot of answers from ISI and pakistani political powers

^^ you are feeding off their press box and calling everything that questions it a conspiracy theory. So we are to believe that the most wanted man was killed in Pak military backyard and then conveniently burried at sea....

so go teach reality to yourself first. Reality is that Americans are the biggest liars an this is such a joke....
who do they expect to believe this? oh yes...forest gumps are a dime a dozen in the facebook/twitter era....

What makes you think 90+% of people in the literate world are wrong and you some how have found some hidden truth and conspiracy? there is new, there are videos, there is tweet and every other form proof reasonably required. yet you come up with this nonsense?
