We have to spot a good thing when it comes our way. It is clear that this news will ease tensions with all people and at a time when we need it the most. In fact even if Bin Laden is still alive I will not fuss over the current story in the media ... this time it is in our favour. I am not concerned with the media providing proof or not, but it appears the timing could not have been better the scales are tipping back in the other direction. We can achieve much more as Muslim in this world free of tensions to win over hearts than we can ever do by drawing lines in the ground making enemies of our neighbours.
If something was working against us ... yes then I will complain about them ready to believe anything, but when it is done in our favour ... I'm staying silent ... :)
That may be a sly almost hypocritical of me ... but that is the way the media works and it is not necessarily for personal gain, but I am concerned for the protections and welfare and safety of Muslims all over least of all my own.

Given what's happening in the Middle East/North Africa - is this an opportune time to change the political and military policies of the West vis-a-vis the that part of the world and vis-a-vis the Muslim identity? Can it be done? There's something to be said about momentum and optics - this "news" may provide both.

Well it will take the wind out of the opposition sails for the election. And this news will have doubled the popularity of Obama from prior to the event. The rest is neither here nor there. Military spurns the economy as does oil - no change will be seen on front lines I'm afraid however politically those not fighting will be better off. We should use this opportunity to increase our dawah and show compassion.

ps. i wasn't particularly pin-pointing him/her. there are countless stories back in Pakistan where blood revenge wiped out 3-4 generations in one go. and these people had education from world renowned institutions. so its a fact there is no good ending to this never-ending revenge (no matter which side you belong to)
Really hope this doesn't affect Pakistan in any way...just hope that Pakistan's not found to be involved in helping osama in any way. Don't want people perceiving Pakistan or Pakistanis as terrorists. Don't want Pakistan to be the next Afghanistan, not like that's possible. Just hope the US leaves Pakistan alone.

Why didnt they show these videos and pictures right away? Why this suspense of waiting a few days and showing the proof then?
And please dont say that they could have their reasons. Their only reason for this delay would be editing and photoshop.
If they wanted to photoshop and the whole Bin Laden thing was a hoax wouldn't they prob have prepared the pictures in advance anyway?? If he died years ago or isn't really dead at all it would make more sense to have everything already prepared. (Oh, and if he died 04/05 or whenever are all those Bin Laden tapes forgeries?
