Re: Breaking News: Asif Injured in dressing room spat
I wonder what is the state of our dressing room right now and what state of mind players must have been in when Asif was taken for X-rays. Captain and coach talking to Shoaib. Asif refusing to talk to shoaib and lying in agony. Geoff Lawson standing and scratching his head wondering ' yeh mai kahan aa ker phuns gaya hoon'.
A quiet and disoriented dressing room. God bless our team.
Mr Lawson! Welcome to Pakistan cricket dressing room.. :)
Re: Breaking News: Asif Injured in dressing room spat
Just watched GEO News and they interviewed few people from Lahore and all of them saying Shoaib should be banned from cricket and they welcome the baord decision to bann Shoaib for 5 games plus sending him back home.
Re: Breaking News: Asif Injured in dressing room spat
Shoaib Akhtar should go into the record books of Pakistan cricket as the "Biggest Wasted Talent" in our history. His life should be taught as a case-study of self-destruction. How an immensely talented player just never lived up to his potential and wasted it all.
Oh well... tomorrow will hopefully be better than today.
Re: Breaking News: Asif Injured in dressing room spat
He would be better off landing in Europe for some time. I wouldn't be surprised if some guys off the street take it upon themselves to teach him a lesson.
Re: Breaking News: Asif Injured in dressing room spat
Looks like it might've been friendly banter between Shoaib and Asif that got a little out of hand. Shoaib must've hit Asif not out of spite, but in a friendly way "pyaar se".. like giving a pat on the back. It it were a full-blooded swing of the bat, there would be broken bones, but it's just a bruise.
Re: Breaking News: Asif Injured in dressing room spat
Chaloo jee here is a twister in the story :D Don't know if its true or not but considering their kindergartenish behavior, anything can be expected.

Shoaib Akhtar's brother Shahid Akhtar however defended his brother, he held Shahid Afridi responsible for the spat. Speaking to TIMES NOW he said, "Afridi is responsible for spat between Shoaib and Asif. Afridi manipulating things in Pakistan dressing room. Afridi is doing this to become captain of Pakistan Team."

haan haan, Afridi ne Shoaib ke haath mai balla pakraya phir us ka haath ghuma ke Asif ko mara
Re: Breaking News: Asif Injured in dressing room spat
I fail to understand the following: Why, except apart from a newly-made captain, have everyone pointed at him with a "younger" brother comment? Akhtar and Afridi were the first ones to have done so, and if memory serves, followed by Younis, Razzaq and others. Why even bother, it is not necessary to point out such things openly. Granted and understood that Malik might not be the ideal choice for everybody but in my opinion, the "younger" brother phrase was just pathetic, time and again. This state of mind is not healthy. "He is just like my younger brother", what in God's name and why can anyone get away with it is beyond me.

One of neighbours plays for a local league...He is friends with Rana Naveed...A couple of years ago when Pakistan were playing in England Shoiab didnt play in one of the matches...various reasons were given...truth was he was out painting the town pink and hiting the bottle! Apparently he was too drunk to play!
