Seems to be a trend with MQM.
Hire people to do your dirty work. If they get caught, announce ‘la-ta’aluqi’. Smooth.
However, with Ishrat-ul-Ibad, MQM plays good cop, bad cop. Other MQM ‘leaders’ would fire up something and then he would come in and cool things down.

It could be something related with what Saulat Mirza said. That all the criminals were given protection by Governor. So now by disowning him, AH is distancing himself with any such allegation

I doubt he will take him back in, it has a lot to do with Saulat’s statement as well as failure of IB in ongoing operation against MQM

Regardless of anything, the timing of this decision is really odd. A very large constituency is going for polling tomorrow. Any nuetral voter will see this and most likely end up giving a vote somebody else

very likely that is the case, Altaf Husain probably wanted him to continue supporting MQM terrorists caught as it was highlighted by Saulta Mirza not too long ago.
