Did anyone get it done yet? whats it for and what are the pros and cons?
Thanks!
Re: Brazilian blowout
search the forum for "Keratin blow dry"
I had a consultation a few months ago and apart from the cost everything seems good, but u have to remember the treatment is not to make ur hair straight instead it leaves ur hair glossier, more healthier looking and easier to manage. Also You have to buy a different shampoo and conditioner (which can be pricey if you buy drugstore shampoo's) but If you have the monies I would definitely recommend it.
This treatment has actually been around for hundreds of years, women from the African continent would use it by putting a certain type of mud in their hair for months and then sit in the sun and then when they washed their hair they would have these fabulous silky locks. Nowadays they put the treatment in, and blow dry the hair, u have to leave it for a few days then go back to the hairdressers to wash it out
Re: Brazilian blowout
I just got it done
It didn't straighten my hair at all!! And its very expensive alongwith the pricey After care shampoo, conditioner and Hair mask which lso needs to be bought alongwith it : @
Yeah but it does make it easier to blow dry and style - it takes me lesser time to blow dry now
Though it doesnt last for more than 2 months
Re: Brazilian blowout
they use formaldehyde in the goop they put in your hair to manage it. i personally wouldn't like my hair to be associated with things that preserve dead bodies. just my opinion.
Re: Brazilian blowout
Uhhh wow! formaldehyde on my hair is scary, i wonder if they do this without the heavy chemical...!
Im not looking to straighten my hair but as Colorful eyes described, i want the gloss and easy care.
Re: Brazilian blowout
Theres a new type now thats formaldehyde free. It doesnt straighten your hair, but does infuse protein and lipids to smooth and tame your hair.
Its called QOD. I'm not sure where people are from on this forum, but I'm sure its available in London/Uk.
Re: Brazilian blowout
I have wavy hair so I got it done and honestly It was nothing too amazing. You can still achieve the look with a good ionic blow dryer and hair serum. I didn't have to pay for mine first time around, would I pay to get it done again, not really because I didn't like that as it washed out it made my hair oily.
