It overturned cars and destroyed at least four houses surrounding the building where the fireworks were stored.
Authorities are investigating whether the store’s owners had the permits needed to be holding explosives.
Television footage showed firemen with rescue dogs searching through a swathe of rubble amid houses destroyed by the large blast.
