He flashed three time early in his innings. Indian fielding was extremely poor, otherwise Butt sahab was as shaky as ever.

Exactly! I saw him the first time play spinners and It's dreadful. Warna to pehle hi out ho jata. He definately needs to improve his batting and taking full charge on spinners. But(t) todays performance was good.

That's why i have always been saying that he is our best opener, he does have some weaknesses but that's normal for our openers but he is always focused and values his wicket. He couldn't play anything on his legs but look at the way he has improved in recent games. I am sure he will work hard to handle spin better, we made a huge mistake by not taking him to WC.

Today's inning was pure class but it also exposed his weakness against spin. But Butt is still a good player and should work on playing spin.

But quite frankly, though he played superbly yesterday - one could see that he has a very limited array of shots. Once Zaheer/RPS started to come around the wicket limiting the width for Butt to slash his bat, there was not much Butt could do. Also, he does not seem to be very comfortable against spinners.
All in all, Indian wickets are not the best places to judge the calibre of the batsman.

^ i've always been a supporter of butt; even when he was being bashed by the head honcho ehsan bhai.
he is a sound opening batsman; now if only shoaib malik realizes he's an asset to the team as an opener we'd have solved the opening pair problem that has plauged us for 5 years.

^^ I had a bad feeling right after the toss when he said that he has chosen to bat second because the last match Pakistan played here, they won playing second. At that moment, I was sure that he will send in Afridi as an opener.
