From what I have seen there are plenty of Pashtun workers and businessmen all over the Balochi and Brohi belt of Balochistan.

I visited Quetta in 2008 and heard a story of how a young man was attacked because he wore Jeans. The Baloch assumed he was Punjabi because they are much more likely to wear western clothing than the Pashtuns or Baloch. They found out later that the young man in jeans was a Baloch. I assume many others have been attacked “accidentally”.

The Baloch seem to take a dislike to Pakistani Hazara’s or Changezi’s as they prefer to be called. I think that is because they have a good representation in government jobs, bureaucracy and more pro-Pakistani than the Baloch and the Quetta Pasthuns as a whole.

Quetta is pashtun city and district. A balochi asserting his dominance over pashtuns in quetta would be strange…balochs freely come to pashtun belt of balochistan but a pashtun is not allowed to open any kind of business or shop in deeper baloch regions…the reason is baloch insugents…they (insurgents) kill any punjabis but some times they also kill pashtuns who had gone there for labour jobs…

balochs dislike hazaras because british used shia hazaras in operation against sunni balochs of iran…hazaras committed atrocities against balochs there, in their shia zeal…as reward hazars were given lands to settle in quetta city by british.
