Karachi’s loss is Pune’s gain. Karachi would have got such a big revenue if they would have given visa to Indian actors like Irfan Khan.
Does Karachi resemble Pune?
Brangelina’s rickshaw ride in Pune
Mercs be damned, Brad and Angelina braved heavy rains in an auto to avoid the paparazzi
Mumbai Mirror Bureau
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie continued to play hide-and-seek with the media and hordes of curious Puneites yesterday, the day after their arrival. The star couple, who are staying at Le Meridian with their children and staff (they’ve taken five rooms on the fifth floor of the hotel) initially tried to go out in their Mercs but obviously ran scared at the sight of the huge crowd collected outside.
Pune is, incidentally, flooded by the foreign media as well. So the organisers pulled a fast one on the crowds by sending the fleet of Mercs out first, without the stars inside.
As the cars pulled out of the hotel, at around 2 pm, the mass of photographers and janta rushed after them. By the time they realised they had been had, and returned to the hotel, Brangelina had already left – this time in an autorickshaw. Believe it or not, the star couple actually visited the sights of Pune aboard the most humble form of transport in the city, braving the heavy rains. They returned to the hotel at around 5 pm.
Although their entire itinerary wasn’t known, one of the stops they made was at the house of builder Avinash Bhonsale, at whose palatial they will be shooting.

Pitt, Jolie on location in Pune
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were in India on Friday, preparing to shoot scenes for their movie on the life of slain journalist Daniel Pearl.
Neither Pitt nor Jolie made any public comments Friday, but were spotted at the Le Meridian Hotel in Pune. Elsewhere in the city, assistants scouted more locations for “A Mighty Heart.” Jolie is playing Pearl’s widow, Mariane; Pitt is a producer for the film.
Pearl, a Wall Street Journal reporter, was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan in 2002 while researching a story on Islamic militancy.
The movie is based on Mariane Pearl’s book, “A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl.”
