I think there is a place in Punjab namely Batapur and didn’t know that Bata is an international brand. Anyways, the brand has never been used for show-off as it offers variety of shoes which can be affordable by people with low to medium income. I think, Bata might have lost its market share to upper class segment due to introduction of foreign brands in market

You are right. I have driven through Batapur on my way from Lahore to Wagah Border. The town was named after Bata because there is a Bata shoe factory there. I also had not known that Bata was an international brand because prior to my first trip to the Czech Republic I had only seen Bata stores in Pakistan.
