Many here are wondering about the long-term effects of five years of Taliban education on their young children and siblings.

I think the american children have been brainwashed not to even question their own values, but just assume that their values are better than everybody else's - nazi ideology.
Brainwashing is apparent in practically every part of american culture. I know Star Trek has a lot of fans in the world - but have you ever noticed the politics in it?
The world/universe is under one rule - the american way. The Russians and the Chinese and the blacks are minorities who are obedient and loyal to an american captain. The rest of the world hardly exists - they have obviously killed off all muslims. Everyone in the universe conforms to american values - or they are considered evil (like the Klingans) until they come under the federation's rules (thinly disguised as the american rules - remind anyone of the UN).
All good values (like justice or truth or freedom) are considered american values, - the american constitution is often quoted in Star Trek - ie "the people". I expect when the americans wrote their constitution they didn't say "the people minus the indians or blacks or whatever" because they didn't consider them humans and therefore "people".
No wonder the american children grow up to be so happy to look down on the cultures and value systems of others and go killing all over the world.
