have you guys ever experienced a brain freeze in terms of cooking?? spec. after going through stressful phase in life.
Not that I was 3 time ka taaza garam garam khanna type of person, lakin I use to cook fresh food about every day and had stuff prepared on hand that could be whipped up in a meal quickly.
I have been sick and other people have been sending food lets say 3-4 times a week, and in last one-one and half year there have been 3 phases like these, lasting 2-3 months, now that I am back to cooking routine mera dimagh kaam nahi karta, not that it works otherwise, lakin I love to cook and I have been trying to whip up stuff lakin nothing appeals when push comes to shove and I know I will be gone to the hospital for a week or so and I feel ok tu I make 5-6 things to make sure ke ghar ki food supply or back up should be there if need be, e.g I make kebobs, daals, chicken karhai, pizza doughs and dry qeema and portion stuff and freeze etc.
Please suggest something how I can snap out of it. One of the things I am thinking is meal planning i used to do it before, may be that will help. HELP!!
Re: brain freeze for cooking, this is not a joke so kindly refrain from fazooliyaat
You said that nothing appeals to you, so do you think maybe you're tired of making the same foods? Or perhaps you feel exhausted after cooking 5-6 things in advance and then don't feel like returning to cooking later on?
I'm not sure if the suggestions would be helpful but I'll try. You're sick, so give yourself a break. Don't make 5-7 dishes before you leave for the hospital...make 2-3 so you don't feel exhausted with cooking. Let your family rely a bit upon take-out foods....so that by the time you return they'll miss your cooking and you'll be more energized to cook. If nothing appeals to you, try dishes you've never made before....or add twists to dishes you already make. For instance, if you usually make chanay...try chanay with chicken, if you usually make paalak with meat or aalu...try making palak paneer....if you usually do karelay plain and fried.....try making karelay keema ir stuffed karelay. You can even experiment with new ingredients.

I agree with RV. over cooking can lead to some serious put off situation from cooking and food . Happened to me , so much so that I just wanted bahar ka khana all the time !! even though I hate bahar ka khana.
Specially if you arent feeling very well , then it is the biggest reason why you dont feel like cooking. I dont feel like cooking at all or even looking at the kitchen when i am not well.
I would say , forget about heavy foods and go for easy options like pasta sauces and stir fry's , they are easy to fix a meal and you wont have to work hard on it . Save your energies to bring yourself back on the health scale. that is what is important right now, not the cooking.

Thanks for suggestions dear gupps!! I agree with food monotony too, I cant think of much nowadays, so i try to make dry items that can be versatile, eg chicken karhai we eat with pita, use the chicken pieces on pizza, wagerah, same with qeema can be eaten in pasta, used in grill cheese wagerah. I dont make vegs because they cant be frozen and dont last (per my intention ;)) so I need to incorporate veg back to our khanna plus we are used to variation in our food. Aaj we are going out for lunch then tomorrow I am thinking to make tacos, I did some menu planning too over the last couple of days.
Thanks for kind wishes just make dua for me and my family.
