yes, people shouldn’t be labelled bad because they “leave” their homeland, I mean we are free to choose where we belong and the lifestyle we want…it just happen that the more educated you are, the more aware of other lifestyles available in the world you are, so chances are bigger that you will want your life to be somewhere far from your homeland!
My point is why our system is creating so many employees, not employers. Everyone is doing what everyone else is doing in Pakistan, ie, MBA, MCS, MBBS, B.Eng. Whereas trade courses create self employed people who actually end up employing others! This is what I want to happen in Pakistan. My brother has done an MCS and has been unemployed for last 6 months or so cause he would not consider any salaries below certain level. Whereas if he were in some trade, he would have thought of starting his own small business!
I think it is really dependant on one people mind I mean we french or pakistanis as you mention, tend to like the “security” of being employed…and it is not in our culture to become employers while in US, Australia or Uk it’s very common, and also look at administrative harassment one has to overcome to start his/her business? sure it’s easier in UK/USA/Australia because it’s in their culture! I was amazed to discover that paki do label themselves “working in the private sector/ or for the government” instead of saying the name of the job i mean french do that too, but not those employer culture minded of UK/USA/Aussies
Absolutely, Pakistanis here say "I work for so and so department" when asked what they did for living. What a joke! People pride themselves for being employed! We don't have many Pakistanis working for themselves here. Is it the same in France, Parissenoor????
yes, it is, we also have a very"heavy" bureaucracy…and many people working for the state, sometimes in obscur positions because they have “connections”…as i told you France and PK share many bad aspects:crying:
The problem is the reception of risk. Creating a business will make you an employer but is perceived as being more risky than being an employee, because starting a brand new business is onsidered riskier than working for an existing one.
Risk............. Hmm its funny that we don't take the risk of doing a business yet we run the risk of getting used to constant unemployment. May be it takes Rs.5000 to start a street cart of food in Lahore, which can turn Rs.30,000 a month easy. But our MBA'a keep chasing a job of Rs.15000 per month. What a pitty........
so, guys & dolls, how could we actually reverse this trend. Who can get us out of this mess. Is there anyone in our current crop of "leaders" who could make this happen!
from all that’s been said l_26 I think no leader has the power to change the trend …only Pakistanis all together can change the trend…this starts with you your family, the way you raise your own kids…I mean giving them the like of entrepreneurship and taking risk!..hope many will follow!
That is absolutely correct Parissenoor. We must start immediately and preach the entrepreneural spirit. But having said that, I insist that only leaders can make sound travel fatster with their Charisma, passion, motivational techniques...........
