I have observed that not just mir baloch but most of the balochs reject black looking among makranis as baloch that those fisherman were once slaves brought from africa even though they are linguistically and culturally similar to balochs but they insist on counting distinct ethno-linguistic group of brahui as baloch because latter have prestigeous history of being rulers of kalat?. Doesnt that count as racism
Re: Brahuis are baloch , black-makranis are not?
Brahuis rulers of kalat had baloch subjects as well, and baloch soldiers so for political purpose they do claim to be balochs as well. There is no doubt that political interests of both balochs and brahuis are same but they are also different. Recent genetic studies have revealed that genetically the tajiks and pashtuns are lot closer to each other than with other groups. Tajiks were iranians who migrated to afghanistan at the advent of islam and heavily assimilated into east iranian groups like bactrians and sogdians, as well as with pashtuns. So they are distinct from persians racially but are linguistical farsi speakers. Tajiks can not claim to be pashtuns and pashtuns can not claim to be tajiks. Tajiks, like those africans of makran, rather relate themeselves with iranians on linguistic and cultural basis.
Re: Brahuis are baloch , black-makranis are not?
Do you consider black makranis as culturally similar to pashtuns as well?
Re: Brahuis are baloch , black-makranis are not?
Baloch Sardars are pretty racist towards Makranis.
I don't think Brahuis should be considered 'Baloch' because their languages belong to 2 completely different language families(Iranic & Dravidian), if Baloch and Brahuis are the same, then Punjabis and Seraikis should be considered the same too but they aren't.
The rulers of Kalat aren't even pure Brahuis, they usually took Afghan wives, in fact most Baloch nawabs took Afghan wives because for them they were similar to what Circassian women were to the Ottomans, so over time they became more and more mixed and now they look like Pashtuns, though ordinary Baloch people look different from Pashtuns.

^ what's different between punjabis and seriakis?

Thats not the case. Khan of kalat family, mengals, raisanis, zahrkhels etc are brahuized pashtuns. While khetranis are balochized pashtuns.

Well the Baloch claim to originate from Syria, they claim they're related to Kurds, but new research has proven that though their ancestors came to Gedrosia(Baluchistan) a thousand years ago, most Baluch are actually local Sout Asian people who got Balochized/Brahuized over time, as well as Pashtuns who adopted those languages; the word Baloch didn't come into existence until the 14th century and they didn't have a country until the late 17th century which was actually an Afghan colony which later was ceded to British-India.
Re: Brahuis are baloch , black-makranis are not?
Brahuis I believe are local people as they speak Dravidian languages as well. Don't know much about Baloch. The resident Baloch here claims that they are Arabs.

. While listing the warriors of Kai Khosrow of Achaemenid empire, Firdowsi mentioned the Baloch in Shahnameh ("The Book of Kings") under the command of general Ashkash As follows:
Next after gustaham came shrewd askash
Endowed with prudent heart and ready brain,
his troop was from the wanderers of the koch and
Baloch wearing exalted cocks comb crests very rams
To fight,no one had seen their backs in the battle or
One of their fingers bare of armour, their banner was a
Pard with claws projecting, akash felicitated Kai
Khusrau at large upon the happy turn of fortune

Ferdowsi described the Baloch as part of the army of Cambyses (Siahwash), son of Kay Khosrow of the Achaemenid Empire 550–330 BC),
second mention of baloch in the book of kings* (Shahnameh*) by ferdosi is during the rule of nosherwan e Adil from 531 to 579 at this persiod baloch were in alborz mountains of iran nosherwan e adil conducted a genocide of baloch as baloch revolted against him resulting in population shift of baloch from alborz to kerman
