In layman’s terms how do they work?

Anyone ever had them here?

You asking about braces for joints (like knees,elbows etc) or for correcting teeth?

Me talking about dental braces here..

What happens is that the wires are pre-shaped in the form of proper tooth alignment.....and they always try to retain their shape ...

they attach some brackets to the teeth and pass the wire through them.....as the wire tries to return to its original shape it pulls the teeth along with itself ......so as a result the teeth get aligned..

Knee braces n others........they basically take the pressure off of your joint and spread it..

Train tracks or retainers? When I was at school I had the second along my top teeth and the first along my bottom, had to keep them for around 18 months.. Did have a friend who had them for like 3 years, what a nightmare..
