If you were buying a scalextric set which one would you go for?
-Formula 1
-GT Sport set
-TVR challenge set
-GT40 sport set
-Bang N Crash set
I don’t have a clue what the difference is between them so please recommend one of the above.

formula 1 from the list of choices that you gave.. if i were to go for something myself i will get the LE MANS 24 + Electronic Lap Counter Circuit 4 (#C1108T).. :) good luck and hope he likes it.. :)
Yankee, can you tell me more about the Le Mans 24 please? Whats the difference between that and the Formula 1 one? I'd prefer not to get the F1 one as its a bit predictable.
well lemans is just another form of racing like formula 1 .. not that popular ofcourse but if the person who is getting the gift from you is hardcore fan believe me this would be as much predictable for him as formula1 .. :) .. reason i liked the lemans one better was that it has bigger track length and it just looks more interesting.. oh btw let me know where you buy it from cause not too many ppl carry these sets and yeah do some price research as well .. make sure nobody charges you more than what they say on their website..
Yankee, apparantely the Formula 1 kit is still better than the Le Mans one......only difference is as you say Le Mans has a bigger track (which as far as I'm concerned just means there's more track for me to be tripping up over)
I was planning on getting it from a local department store, they have a huge floor just for boys gadgets and such. Anyway let me know if you still want the Le Mans one and I'll see what I can do.
Formula 1
Ended up buying the Formula 1 kit, they have a special limited edition kit out at the moment which has extra track and other bits and bobs and its not that much extra. Just thought I'd post again in case anyone else is thinking of buying one.
