really? everytime i tell my husband anything he just says okay n starts talking/asking about something else. It's always just an "okay"

My favorite topics to discuss are Sports, Philosophy, Politics and sometimes Religion as well. I don't like to hear long stories about god know this family this or that. Don't like to talk bad about people or behind their back. Now A..you should talk about philosophy..it will enlighten his mind.

I think religion is a topic theyll converse easily on. Otherwise you really need to ask a few well placed questions and get them to talk abt themselves. Boys are human, and just like girls, like to talk abt themselves. But they arent that upfront about it. Praise him, show an interest in something in his day, baat se baat nikalo. It is kind of like pulling teeth at times, but has to be done.

The very words of your post shows that you are over-conscious. There can be no hard and fast rules for discussion. You are the only one here who knows him much more than any of us. So you have to work on it yourself. Not every guy likes cricket for example....believe me...he'll get annoyed if you start discussing it for it is a boyish topic.
Sit back, relax and:
1-Try to talk to him not so frequently.
2-What is even more important is to talk to him as much in one sitting as you two dont need to merely stretch it for the sake of it.
3-Go with the flow
