Boycott hp!

I had no idea about hp supplying and supporting Israeli army with products that have made life hell for Palestinians. For more info please read this link:

HP Boycott Campaign: Home

Re: Bycott hp!

For UK guppies:

The Richmond and Kingston Palestine Solidaroty Group is organising an even in Richmond on 25th July to raise awareness about this cause....anyone who's interested pm me for details.

Re: Bycott hp!

I always think the best way to bycott these companies is to create a similar competitive product

Re: Bycott hp!

I'm sure there are companies with similar products who don't support Israeli army.

A lot of muslims think that Starbucks support Israel but it's a myth...Starbucks doesn't even have a branch in Israel. Also, I buy Israeli dates all the time as I believe it's okay to trade with Israeli farmers. Supporting Israeli army on the other hand is something different.

Re: Bycott hp!

and they in turn support israeli army (probably)

Re: Bycott hp!

What Ethan said. They most likely support Israeli army and fund them too in some way. You should start with boycotting American companies since they have wreaked havoc in South Asia/Afghanistan. Considering global economics and trade, you can't really boycott one thinking you are doing something worthwhile. You will have to boycott everything and go live in a jungle, which I am willing to do actually. All powerful [edited] support each other.

Re: Bycott hp!

Well, we have to start from some where...some where more obvious perhaps.

Re: Bycott hp!

Those Israeli farmers might be helping the Israeli army somehow but they're counted as individuals...not a company. Whereas hp is a company that specifically designs products to monitor and scan the movements of Palestinians. Here's a quote from this solidarity page's group.

'Israel runs a nefarious system of checkpoints in the West Bank which are designed to make movement hell only for the native Palestinians. Not only does it make work or social life incredibly hard, but on some instances by stopping ambulances, needless deaths have occurred. The full system which scans Palestinians and stores their biometric data to prevent their free movement at these checkpoints is designed and maintained by an HP division.

In addition, HP provides the IT infrastructure for the Israeli navy, which is gravely flouting Geneva conventions and committing war crimes, primarily in its role in the siege and bombardment of Gaza.'

Re: Bycott hp!

Boycott*. can't edit the title.

Do you guys know that Israel has about 20% Muslim population, and when you boycott Israeli products, you may stab your own fellow Muslim

Re: Boycott hp!

Aren't all Isreali citizens mandated to serve in the Armed Forces, if so, doesn't that make them "off-duty" members of the army?

I agree with brother SID. And, there are a great deal of bright people who abhor Israeli massacre and apartheid of Palestinians; if the ultra wealthy muslims pooled together to create rival technology companies and provided equivalent or better products, the consumers will go to the better product.

But, the effort of the organization is still appreciated, because yes it does have to start somewhere. I however, currently own an HP Printer that serves me well.

Re: Boycott hp!

I don’t think so. Out of 20% arabs in Israel 82% are sunni muslims…I can’t treat them as off-duty members of the army. Also please don’t think that Israel treats its own citizens any better. Please check this link.

Re: Boycott hp!

Btw, this group in UK is mainly run by non-muslims...They are people with beautiful souls. They are very active mashaAllah. The other day they had a talk organised by David Sheen in a local church.

Re: Bycott hp!

This logic doesn't apply when US imposes sanctions on countries. Ordinary people get hurt for things governments do.

If you (and a majority of humanity) boycotts Israel's products, it might create pressure on the government to behave in a more civilized manner perhaps.

Re: Boycott hp!

If you look carefully, many/alot of products and companies have their R & D facilities in Israel. (research and development)

Does that mean you won't use ANY of those products ? Not using 1 but using everything else means pretty much nothing.

Re: Boycott hp!

i just bought an hp printer

Re: Boycott hp!

I don't know men... for me buying Israel dates, for example, means supporting illegal occupation of Palestinian land as they are mostly (?) grown in illegal settlements.

Re: Boycott hp!

lol. all sort of companies provide all sorts of services to all sorts of governments.

would you go for banning all companies that worked with US government when they invaded Iraq? yes or no?

Re: Bycott hp!

I don't think you quite understand how the economy works, do you?
