Re: Boy or girl
It's 2005....almost 2006. I don't mean to come across as being a bi*ch or anything....but I dunno where you guys live....but most places these days have ultrasound which take the guess work out of all this. Where you don't have to look at the size of the stomach, analyze the kind of cravings the woman's having or other stuff like that. Maybe it's the result of being raised by 2 doctors but I think that stuff is crap. Although my grandmother used to believe in it.
BTW, my mom's a OB/GYN. I once brought up this topic with her b/c one of my friend's was pregnant and she told me that at least in her personal experience, she has never once had a patient whose ultrasound was wrong in determining the gender of the baby. As in 20+ years of practice, not a single patient's ultrasound showed she was having a girl and she ended up with a boy or vice versa. I do understand that no technology is perfect so there's always the POSSIBILITY that an ultrasound is wrong.....but realistically speaking, what're the odds of it?
Have any of you ever heard of any woman whose ultrasound told her one gender, yet the baby born ended up being the opposite? And I'm not talking about stories where a friend's cousin's mom's neighbor's friend knew the woman....I'm talking about where either you met a woman or someone you know(parents/siblings/friends) met a woman first hand who ultrasound was incorrect.
This is purely out of curiosity, why would you go through all the guessing with food, size, position, dreams etc. when you can just have a ultrasound?
Just for the record, I don't think there's anything wrong with anyone believing in all these myths....but I just don't understand why you'd put yourself through all the anxiety of wondering when you have the option of knowing for sure.
