Re: Boy names
in these days ?????? why would you want to name a child what every other daniyal mikael and shaan is called????
id go for something relatively unheard of .. and meaningful .
Re: Boy names
Nyle is lovely. it means "acquirer, earner" in arabic.
i've also heard of Rohail and Rohan. both arabic, but i haven't looked up their meanings yet.
I heard of the name shahmir too and a scholar was asked if it is appropriate to name a kid. He said it was not, reason being that the name means king of kings and only Allah is the king of kings so using this name would be like committing shirk. Also naming after angels was not encouraged by this scholar. Rest Allah knows best.
Re: Boy names
^ you are crying over "king of kings" ! ha!
In my kids class an Arabic boy was named "Allah". (I don't think it's a good idea to name your kid Allah).

Dont just go for whats "in" or what sounds cool, a child's name is something very serious! Pick a name for him that has a good, positive meaning or name him after a good Muslim like a prophet or companion
Is it really Arabic, doesnt sound Arabic-ish
Here are a few websites Bekk you can consult to find some names, hope it helps
Re: Boy names
^ a friend of mine found it in an Arabic baby names book. she's very careful about these things so i, personally, have no reason to doubt her.
Re: Boy names
I want a beautiful unique name which should blend in with the western world and also have a good meaning and islamic ties, For those who want unique names:
Ryam ( like Ryan) arabic meaning someone who loves
Aasil a pious man
Zamar bravery
Zyam respect
raif winner
Rajeel one with strong will
Wahib (I really like this one) giver
I loved Nyle, but since its getting so trendy I might pass up. keep them coming.
Re: Boy names
i’ve read that naming your child after angels, such as Jibreel and Mikyle, is permissable.
